Mastic Tile Adhesive Dry Time

Mastic is a vague term that generally refers to fast grab glues for tile.
Mastic tile adhesive dry time. Mastic is not recommended for high moisture areas. Traditionally mastic was an organic plant based resin from the pistacia lentiscus shrub and its term is related to the word masticate due to its sticky gummy consistency. Bondera tile mat set will replace mortar thinset or mastic for a fast easy and clean installation on a smooth flat surface. Mastic is a largely outdated term.
Today the term mastic is infrequently used and it is difficult to find tile adhesives that go under the mastic banner at your local. We feel that mastic tile adhesives are a great time saver when laying tile but knowing the laws of physics and nature we feel that mastic adhesive is not appropriate for use anywhere where moisture is present. For tile with any side greater than 15 38 1 cm custom recommends using a polymer modified cement mortar specifically designed for setting large format tile. Recommended for tile up to 8 20 cm on any side.
Ideal for smaller format tile installations. Intermittent water exposure areas only. Dry time will be extended if using larger tiles bonding to non porous surfaces in high humidity or if temperature is below 60 degrees f 15 degrees c. Do not apply excess adhesive.
Mastic adhesive is very sticky making it well suited for vertical applications where tile may slide. Ceramic tile adhesive is more appropriate. The tile can be adhered to the mortar bed either while the mortar bed is beginning to dry or after the mortar bed has cured. Can be used with tile up to 15 38 cm on any side but dry time significantly increases.
